  • Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM): Monitors parameters like voltage, temperature, transmitted/received optical power, and laser bias current, ensuring reliable operation .

  2. Receiver Modules: Only receive optical signals (ROSA-based).
  3. Transceiver Modules: Combine transmitter and receiver functions in one module, enabling bidirectional communication .

  • 100 Mbps: Legacy systems.
  • 1 Gbps (SFP): Standard enterprise networks.
  • 10 Gbps (SFP+): High-performance networks and data centers.
  • 25/40/100 Gbps (SFP28, QSFP+): Modern data centers and aggregation layers.
  • 200/400 Gbps (QSFP-DD): Ultra-high-speed networking .

Classification by Fiber Type and Transmission Distance
